Scoot is Recruiting Cabin Crew: Will You Be At Their Special Christmas Event?

The low-cost arm of Singapore Airways is holding a number of cabin crew recruitment events in December, including a special Christmas event.  Scoot now flies to more than 65 destinations across 18 countries using a fleet of brand new Boeing 787 Dreamliner’s and Airbus A320 single-aisle aircraft.  This summer, the low-cost carrier expanded long-haul services from its Singapore hub to Germany’s capital, Berlin as well as Honolulu and Athens.

Scoot was created in 2012 as a standalone budget carrier by the Singapore Airlines Group and has quickly expanded.  Current plans will see the carrier grow to 70 aircraft by 2022 so it’s not hard to see why Scoot is looking to recruit quite a few new cabin crew.

At present, Scoot is accepting applications from Singapore and Malaysia-based candidates – although all roles are based in Singapore so there would be a need to relocate.  Applications for Malaysian candidates have to be submitted via the official Scoot careers website by the 15th December.  An Assessment Day for shortlisted candidates will follow in the same month and successful candidates could expect to start a training course within two to three months.

There’s also a special Christmas event for Singapore-based applicants which will be held on 15th December.  Scoot’s recruitment team says this event is more about finding out about the role but candidates who want to attend will still need to first apply online for a chance to be shortlisted.

In order to attend the event, you will need to meet these minimum criteria:

  • At least 18-years old
  • Female candidates must be at least 158cm tall
  • Male candidates must be at least 165cm tall
  • At least 4 GCE ‘N’ Levels with Credit in English

Scoot is particularly interested in hearing from candidates who can speak a second language other than English but this isn’t a necessity.  Previous experience as cabin crew isn’t required either, although candidates who have worked in a supervisory role as cabin crew will be considered for suitable roles within Scoot.

You’ll need to prove you can take safety and security seriously but that you can also have fun and show off your personality.  Further details can be found on the official Scoot careers website.
