Ryanair has announced a “major” recruitment for as many as 150 new cabin crew who will be based at the low-cost carrier’s bases in Dublin, Cork and Shannon in the Republic of Ireland. Announcing the recruitment drive, Ryanair said it desperately needed to hire a lot more crew because customers continued to “flock” to the airline.
Recruiters from the airline will be holding a recruitment day at Ryanair’s engineering base on the outskirts of Dublin on August 30th, where candidates can find out more about what it’s like to work for Ryanair.
In Ireland, cabin crew are employed directly by Ryanair on permanent contracts, and the airline says its crew enjoy a slew of other benefits, including:
- Salary of up to €27,000 per year
- Five days on / Three days off fixed roster
- Discounted travel concessions
- Fast-track career opportunities
Ryanair has also changed some of the most controversial parts of its recruitment and training programme for new hire cabin crew, so some of the rumours you may have heard are probably no longer accurate.
For example, Ryanair cabin crew no longer have to pay to attend the initial training course and the uniform is provided free of charge. In the second year of employment, you’ll receive a uniform allowance and cabin crew are now considered permanent employees with all the additional rights that this brings.
