Seemingly against all the odds, low-cost airline Norwegian has started to accept applications for new short-haul cabin crew at six bases across Scandanavia. The carrier announced it would cut capacity by as much as 15 per cent this year (up 5 per cent on previous guidance) and is still grappling with the Boeing 737MAX grounding so the new recruitment programme comes as quite a surprise.
There are vacancies in the following locations:
- Stockholm
- Trondheim
- Copenhagen
- Oslo
- Bergen
- Stavanger
As you would expect, anyone interested in applying for one of these crew bases must already have the right to live and work in the advertised location as Norwegian is unable to sponsor candidates.
All of the vacancies are being offered on 4-6 month temporary contracts which could be extended or made into a permanent position dependent on the airline’s performance. Training for successful candidates is expected to start from mid-April to early-May and applications have to be submitted as soon as possible.
Unfortunately, anyone who has applied for a cabin crew role with Norwegian in the past 12-months and was not successful, will not be eligible for this round of recruitment.
Minimum requirements include:
- At least 20-years old
- At least 160 cm tall (5’3″)
- Ability to swim
- Clean criminal history
