Malaysia Airlines is Recruiting Cabin Crew: And For Once They Are Hiring Males As Well

Malaysia Airlines really has been through a tough few years – notwithstanding the incredibly tragic loss of two aircraft in 2014, the airline was already battling rising costs and intense competition on many of its most lucrative routes.  Then there was the fact that Malaysia Airlines seemed to be trying to turn its business around without any clear direction or strategy and you have to wonder how the airline even survived.

Luckily, Malaysia Airlines did manage to keep going and despite things being far from perfect, the carrier does at least seem to have pulled together a far more coherent strategy for its future success.  And building on that strategy is a new recruitment campaign for new cabin crew to join the Kuala Lumpur-based airline – even better is the news that Malaysia Airlines is for once accepting applications from male candidates.

Interested candidates will already need to have the right to live and work in Malaysia and be able to speak and write fluent English.  Candidates must be aged at least 18-years old and while there’s no minimum height requirement for female candidates, male applicants must be at least 165cm.

Applications can be submitted via the official Malaysia Airlines recruitment website here.

In May 2018, the airline launched its current Malaysian Hospitality campaign to highlight the importance of traditional hospitality that is part of Malaysian culture and what passengers can expect to enjoy when flying with Malaysian airlines.

“Malaysian Hospitality is something that is innate in all Malaysians. As a nation we are hospitable, welcoming, warm and genuine, something inculcated in all of us from young. It is this that binds us and unites us in harmony,” expained the airline’s chief executive Izham Ismail.

“These values are something we, as the national carrier, are proud to bring to the world on behalf of all Malaysians. Travelling with Malaysia Airlines is to experience what is truly best about Malaysia as Malaysian Hospitality begins with us.”
