The hungary-based low-cost airline, Wizz Air plans to expand its already extensive operations in Poland by opening a new base in Kraków next year. The new operation brings 12 new routes including London, Larnaca Billund and Oslo to the Wizz Air route network and will mean the creation of 80 new jobs including cabin crew at the Kraków base.
Operations will initially begin in April 2019 and Wizz Air then has plans to permanently station two Airbus A321 aircraft at the base later in the year. Kraków becomes the airline’s 26th base overall and its fifth base just in Poland. Wizz says the base represents a $240 million investment and will add something in the region of 188,000 seats with one-way fares starting at just €19.99.
The airline says it is looking for “young and ambitious” new cabin crew and other team members to join its team and will be holding recruitment events in Kraków on the 7th, 17th and 26th January 2019. Applications are currently being accepted on Wizz Air’s official recruitment website.
Along with being “cheerful, energetic and positive” you’ll also need to meet the following minimum criteria:
- At least 18-years old
- Minimum height of 165cm for females and 175cm for males
- Minimum arm reach of 210cm (while standing on tiptoes)
- Educated to at least High School Standard
- Fluent in both written and spoken English as well as one other Central/Eastern European language – Romanian, Bulgarian, Polish, Hungarian, Lithuanian, Latvian, Slovak, Czech, Macedonian, Serbian, Ukrainian, Georgian, or Bosnian.
You will also need to be a confident swimmer and able to cover any tattoo’s or body piercings when in Wizz Air uniform. Although previous cabin crew or customer service experience isn’t essential, either of these skills will be a definite advantage.
You’ll need to prove you have the ability to provide exceptional customer service, working well within a team and maintaining Wizz Air’s safety standards. Additional skills include being punctual and flexible, as well as holding high ethical standards.
Wizz Air was first launched in May 2004 and has been steadily growing in size ever since. The airline now operates out of 25 bases across Europe, serving a total of 600 routes Wizz Air has so far seen its passenger numbers grow by around 20% in 2018 compared to the year before.
