Aer Lingus has announced a big recruitment drive for new cabin crew to join its hub in Dublin as well as a limited number of positions available in Cork. Applications are currently being accepted via the airline’s official recruitment website with successful candidates expected to start training from March through to May 2019.
The airline says the new crew are needed as Aer Lingus kickstarts an expansion plan which sees the carrier positioned as a four-star ‘value’ airline in parent company, IAG’s portfolio of brands. Aer Lingus currently flies to over 100 destinations, including 15 points in North America.
The airline says it’s looking for professional and “highly motivated” candidates who are passionate by the brand and have a “positive attitude to work”. You’ll also need to prove yourself as an excellent communicator and a strong team player. As Aer Lingus isn’t able to offer sponsorships, you’ll need to already have the right to live and work in the EU.
On top of that, interested candidates will need to meet the following minimum criteria:
- At least 18-years old
- Fluent in both written and spoken English
- No visible tattoos or body piercings when wearing the Aer Lingus uniform
- Between 5’2″- 6’2″ tall and able to reach up to 6’3″
- Able to swim at least 25 metres unaided and tread water for at least 1 minute
At this time, the airline is only looking for candidates who have acquired at least 12-months experience in a face-to-face customer service or sales role. The ability to speak a second European language is desirable but not essential, as too is previous cabin crew experience – especially if you possess a current EASA cabin crew attestation.
It goes without saying that new joiners will be expected to be flexible and willing to work a variety of shifts, including late nights and very early mornings. The initial training course will take place in Dublin and takes around five weeks.

Aer Lingus plans to launch a brand new cabin crew uniform in Spring 2019. The uniform is being created by Irish designer, Louise Kennedy who was also behind the airline’s current teal green look – currently in its 20th year!
The new uniform will be one of the last and most visible aspects of a big transformation project which has been underway at the airline.
