The Spanish airline, Iberia has announced plans to hire Japenese cabin crew who will be dedicated to working on the carrier’s Madrid to Tokyo route. The news follows a decision from Iberia to increase its direct Spain to Japan service from three-times per week to five. Interested candidates have until 10th May to submit their application.
For this particular position, Iberia is only looking for Japenese nationals who are currently living in Spain and already have the right to live and work in the EU. You’ll need to be fluent in both Spanish and Japenese, as well as possess a good level of English.
Importantly, Iberia has said its only wants to hire Japanese cabin crew for this particular position because candidates must have an “extensive knowledge of the culture and customs of Japan.” Successful candidates will predominantly work on this one route, alongside Iberia’s normal flight attendants.
Other than those critical criteria, you’ll also need to meet these minimum requirements:
- At least 18-years old
- Education to at least baccalaureate level
- Height of at least 160cm
- No criminal record
- In possession of a passport that allows unrestricted travel
You’ll also need to be medically fit, a confident swimmer and physically able to perform security and safety related duties onboard. Iberia is accepting applications from both male and female candidates.
In order to apply, you’ll need to submit an application via Iberia’s official careers website. You’ll need an up to date CV and two photo’s for your application – one passport style face shot and a full-length photo.
If you currently work as cabin crew or have done so in the last 5-years, then you’ll also need to submit proof of your flying experience.
Iberia plans to launch its new route in October 2018 but hasn’t yet confirmed how many specialist crew it plans to hire.
